Rested Legs

If nearly three months of not running doesn't leave your legs fresh, then I don't know what will. But that's where I'm at. (View the video of my first run back.) Now to figure out where I'm gonna go.

Every year I catch the sickness of wanting to run. A disease I once embrased readily, it is now a difficult pill to swallow following years of being unfit. The prime motivator each year is the Butte to Butte road race in Eugene, OR. Since the summer following 6th grade when my grandparents first introduced me to the event, it has become a yearly tradition that has slowly spread throughout the family. It is now my most cherished family tradition. I am still the only family member who regularly does the 10k run, while the rest of my relatives do the 4.5 mile walk.

My main goal with this blog is to help motivate others in their journeys. Besides a medicore athlete who loves to run, I consider myself to be a pretty knowledgeable coach. Hopefully there will be something here for everybody from the casual runner to the serious athlete. Feel free to write me with any of your own questions, or to share your own stories.

Keep checking back regularly updates on my progress, tips on training, and perhaps some poor attempts at humor.

RIAA, Coach Matt
